Starting Point

The Recondite Peak trailhead is located in the Ghost Wilderness Area, approximately 60 km west of the town of Hinton, Alberta. To get to the trailhead, take Highway 16 west from Hinton for approximately 60 km. Look for the sign for the Ghost Wilderness Area and turn left onto the Forestry Trunk Road. The Forestry Trunk Road is a gravel road and is not suitable for all vehicles. Drive for approximately 18 km until you reach the trailhead parking lot on your right.
