At an elevation of 3,554 meters (11,623 feet), it is the highest peak in the area. The hike to the summit is a challenging 8-10 hour trek, but the views from the top are well worth the effort. The peak offers stunning 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, as well as glimpses of glaciers and alpine lakes. Wildlife sightings are also common in the area, so keep your eyes peeled for deer, elk, and mountain goats.

Starting Point

The start of the trails at the Kings Peak in British Columbia can be accessed by driving east on Highway 1 from Vancouver. Take the exit for Highway 99 and drive north for about an hour until you reach Squamish. Turn left onto Cleveland Avenue and drive for about 5 minutes until you reach the parking lot for the trailhead.

Why visit Kings Peak

Kings Peak is a mountain located in the Canadian province of British Columbia. At an elevation of 3,954 metres (12,972 ft), it is the highest peak in the province. The mountain is part of the Purcell Mountains, and is located within Yoho National Park.

The mountain was named in 1898 by J. Norman Collie after his friend, King Edward VII. The first ascent of the peak was made in 1901 by James Outram and party.

The mountain is a popular destination for climbers and hikers, and offers excellent views of the surrounding area.
