Sommet Saint-Sauveur - Hiking

I love water parks and Mont Saint-Sauveur scratched that itch for me. It's a high quality, clean water park with a number of activities to be had for children of all ages. You're rewarded with a beautiful scenic view as you're spending time on a mountain slope over-viewing nature. This is even more apparent since I came here on a beautiful sunny day and even enjoyed myself even when I waited in line to do the rides. Sure, the wait can be 15-20 minutes long but that's part of the game. I simply couldn't help myself and wanted to look at the beautiful horizon as I passed the time. The lobby area consists of a huge ski lodge where you can change and in the winter, keep warm. Yes, this slope is also used to ski. The park itself has about 20 slides of various levels of difficulty. There's traditional attractions like the pool with waves, the lazy river and the such. I really liked "the manic" which is a lazy river for advanced people who get to pushed down stream by waves, sometimes so big you can be tossed into the water. The cascades was also another favorite of mine. There's a big section for small children, so parent/child can keep themselves busy. A few tips : - I would suggest coming during the weekday as it gets quite busy during weekends, it was still quite busy even though we went on a Wednesday. - Buy your tickets online the day before, the money you save it quite notable. - Get some water shoes, walking barefoot for hours on asphalt wasn't the most exciting experience.

Where: Saint-Sauveur ski hill - Montreal, Quebec What: A day out for some ski. How was it: It's not the biggest nor highest of hills but they have a wide variety of hills and they have night skiing. You can rent equipment on the spot if you like and there are chalets or hotels nearby to stay overnight and enjoy the city a little more. Grade: Eli = 4, Serge = 4+ Recommend: Yeah, it's a nice place to visit during the winter or summer.

We came for the viking and dragon, in the off-season. The viking (a monorail luge flying down the mountain), was off the charts good. My only complaint is that they charge per rider for the viking, rather than per cart. So, a 6 year old sitting on his dad's lap, gets charged the same as 2 x 40 year olds in separate carts. I think this is a disincentive for families, and I think they should seriously think of changing this policy. If they charged per cart, a father-son duo could get the feel for it, then split into separate carts once they both felt safe and competent. In our case, I rode with my son in the same cart, which cost $15.00 for a single descent. The next descent was $15.00 in separate carts, which felt like a more reasonable value. Great ride though. The dragon (like a zipline chair) was ho-hum. I'd spend your money on the viking instead.

The best water park I have ever been to. Worth how much it costs. Only water park I have been to with actual exciting rides. 2 wave pools. And some amazing slides
