Starting Point

The Nakiska Ski Area is located in Kananaskis, Alberta. To get to the cross-country ski trailhead, take the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) to the Kananaskis exit. Turn left onto Highway 40 and follow it for about 15 minutes until you reach the Nakiska Ski Area. The cross-country ski trailhead is located at the bottom of the mountain.

Why visit Nakiska Ski Area

The Nakiska Ski Area is located in the Kananaskis Country of Alberta, Canada. The ski area is situated on the north side of Mount Allan, adjacent to the Trans-Canada Highway. Nakiska was built in 1987 as the official alpine skiing venue for the 1988 Winter Olympic Games. The ski area features a vertical drop of 675 metres (2,215 feet) and a total skiable area of 85 hectares (210 acres). There are 20 runs serviced by six lifts, including two high-speed quads. The ski area is open from December to April, depending on weather conditions.
