That seems like a fantastic way to conclude the day.

Starting Point

The trail begins along an ancient mossy road that gradually rises in height. Turn left at the T-intersection. After 5 minutes, look for a cairn on the right that marks the beginning of a rib boned track through the low underbrush forest. The route will gradually ascend until ending with a brief hard climb up and over a ridge. A difficult struggle up through exposed limestone cliffs stumped ancient trees, and Manzanita shrubs leads from there. The finest vantage position is directly below the somewhat flat plateau, a little lower than the path height. Beautiful views of the Coastal Mountains.

Why visit Black Mountain - Sntsk'il'ntən Regional Park

The Summit

You're in for a treat at the Black Mountain Viewpoint's peak! It's properly titled because the vista is very breathtaking. Perhaps much more so because it was unexpected.

As you glance towards Kelowna, you'll see the entire Black Mountain area. Okanagan Lake may be seen far into the horizon. If you can tear your gaze away from the lake, you can see Black Knight Mountain, Myra Canyon, and even Highway 33 as it vanishes into the undulating hills. It's a beautiful, panoramic vista.

The peak is just a vast, flat grassland with a fenced-in overlook. A route goes around the field, providing several different vistas before returning downhill. There's plenty of space for a picnic up here!

Eagle Bluffs
