The Wilderness Area was created by the 1994 California Desert Protection Act, and encompasses 72,575 acres (29,370 ha) of Great Basin wildlands, east of the Owens Valley and west of the Eureka Valley.The Piper Mountain is a mountain located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It is part of the Presidential Range, and is the sixth-highest peak in the range. The mountain is named for James J. Piper, who was killed in an avalanche on the mountain in 1849.
The mountain is a popular destination for hikers, and has a number of trails that lead to the summit.
