On our first run of the day, an out of bounds skier came out of the bush and collided my wife. She was badly injured. The ski patrol helped her but did nothing to the person that hit her. The other skier should have had her lift ticket revoked. My wife could not ski more that day as she was badly hurt. Mont Ste Marie would not give her a complimentary lift ticket to use next time (not that there will likely be a next time) and there were no consequences to the other skier who clearly broke rules and codes of conduct. The food is the worst of any hill within 90 minutes of Ottawa. Most ski hill food is bad. Marie's is particularly bad. This hill is not worth the drive from Ottawa unless you have discount tickets. Certainly not worth $47+ taxes

Fantastic skiing within an hour of the National Capital!! Probably the best kept skiing secret in the North East. That may be going a little too far but to have a small mountain of that caliber that close to a Million people and being used only sparingly is truly amazing! Once Americans discover this mountain with the weak Canadian dollar lookout!

Decent hill near Ottawa. Good if you want something better than Camp Fortune but don't want to travel to the big hills in Quebec. It was busy on a Saturday in March but the chair lift lineups still weren't more than 5 minutes. Heads up, all the runs are rated to be more difficult than they are. I like to stick to the left part of the mountain.

Mont Ste Marie is normally never closed on Mondays and Tuesday. If you are unsure please call customer service. They have two lifts: Vanier (main hill) and Cheval Blanc (secondary hill). Cheval Blanc is the only lift closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Please stop spreading false information.
