Why choose this trail?

The St. Paul area located at the southern tip of Nuns' Island is a wooded city park of 24 hectares with fauna and flora impressive. Interpretive trails totaling 2.5 kilometers have been built there. We also find the lake of 5 hectares Battures is hidden between the trees.
This still wild woods is the last in importance in the southwest of the island of Montreal. The silver maple and basswood to ash stands are the most significant plant communities. There are also some maple sugar and some hickory poplar. The hairy wild rye, a grass considered very rare in Quebec, is present along several trails. Other species at risk include garlic Canada cinna the reed, the floerkée the laciniée cardamine, sedges to hairy leaves and spring beauty.
