There's not much to say about Cadillac that hasn't already been said. The highest mountain in Acadia National Park (where no trip to Maine would be complete without stopping), Cadillac is one of the first points to see the sunrise in the country. Hikers who want to reach the summit in time for sunrise usually use the North Ridge Trail, a moderate 2.2 mile climb. The trail begins in the forest but opens quickly to the stars, and the summit offers a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean, Bar Harbor and the rest of the island, making for a memorable and truly unique hike.

Porcupine Trail: From the northern trailhead, head south and take the first left on the Porcupine Trail, a 1.5 mile single-track mountain bike trail that leads to the picnic prairie. This easy to moderate trail includes curves and a bridge. Hikers may also enjoy this trail, but beware of approaching cyclists.

New England Travel Today calls this "hike" one of the most beautiful walks in New England, connecting two of the most beautiful villages together. It may be a fairly easy walk, but it's two miles in one direction. The hike begins in Camden by walking south on Chestnut Street, which turns into Russel Avenue. Don't forget to stop and say hello to the Belted Galloway (Oreo Cookie) cows at Aldemere Farm.
