Why hike in Central Prairies?

Trails in central Alberta, grouped by Travel Alberta's 13 regions, including Maskepetoon Park, Red Deer Lake and Big Knife Provincial Park.

Why hike in Central Prairies?

Central Prairies is one of Travel Alberta's 13 regions. Travel Alberta publishes neither a list of municipalities nor a boundary map for its regions: the trail grouping on this page is our own, based on trail coordinates.

Trails in the region include Maskepetoon Park, Red Deer Lake and Big Knife Provincial Park. Aspen Beach and Pigeon Lake, two provincial parks near the presumed edge of the region, are still to be confirmed.
