Very good place for serious hikers looking for a challenge in Maine Highlands. The moderate difficulty rating is accurate - expect 4-6 hours of steady climbing through beautiful wilderness. Access through Baxter State Park requires entrance fees, but the pristine nature and spectacular views from South Brother make it completely worthwhile. Remember no dogs allowed on this trail.

Beautiful trail with stunning views of the Maine Highlands! The 15.4km hike with 1210m elevation gain is definitely challenging but absolutely worth it. The scenery throughout the moderate difficulty trail is breathtaking, especially as you climb higher. Plan for 4-6 hours and bring plenty of water since there are no services available on the trail.
