Does the Weather Stop You?

Are you the type to find excuses not to go outside? If there's a thermometer hanging on each of your windows and your homepage is the weather channel, chances are you don't get out much.

Wimp

Too hot, too cold, too rainy, too windy—yet this is the climate we have. One day you're basking in the sun, the next you need to grab the shovel! If Quebec were a body part, I'd bet it would be our entire emotional system! But you know what? I think that's part of the fun of being outdoors—you never know what's waiting for you, and this little unknown variable makes every outing a unique adventure!

Adapt

Yes, comfort, I get it. We need to ensure a minimum—our bodies have their limits. I wouldn't set out to conquer Antarctica in a tight speedo, and I wouldn't launch into an Amazon expedition armed with a parka. If humans have made their way through almost every ecosystem on the planet, it's because we have the ability to adapt. And good news—you still possess that intelligence within you!

Be Prepared

You just need to remember that weather is a changing variable and several factors can influence how you prepare. Are you going skiing in the Rockies in the middle of January or playing pétanque with grandma in the park? You see where I'm going with this...only your way of preparing can be wrong, never the weather. In life, there are those who find reasons to stay in their comfort zone, and there are those who find reasons to do what they love more often. If you have the motivation, you'll find the means to enjoy nature no matter what the weather's like outside. Because you know that in nature you'll always feel that peace inside you...and the weather can never change that!
