Absolutely stunning winter hike! The bare summit offers incredible 360-degree views of the surrounding Adirondack peaks. Took us about 5 hours with breaks and photo stops. Trail was well-maintained despite the challenging terrain. Definitely bring microspikes in winter conditions. One of my favorite hard-rated trails in the region.

Challenging hike with rewarding views at the summit. The 8.7km distance felt longer due to the steep sections and rocky terrain. Parking fees were expected but still a bit pricey. The trail is well-marked but definitely requires good fitness level. Weather can change quickly up there so come prepared with layers.

Great workout and spectacular fall colors during our visit. The trail lives up to its hard difficulty rating with sustained climbs throughout. Parking situation requires planning ahead as it fills up quickly on weekends. The final push to the summit is steep but the views make every step worthwhile. Highly recommend for experienced hikers.

Beautiful mountain but tougher than anticipated. The 900m elevation gain really tests your endurance, especially in the summer heat. Trail conditions were good but some sections were quite steep and rocky. Worth the effort for the panoramic views, though I wish dogs were allowed as my hiking buddy had to stay home.

Solid hike but be prepared for a real challenge. The 4.5-hour duration estimate was pretty accurate for our group. Trail surface varies from forest paths to rocky scrambles near the top. Access fees are a downside but understandable for trail maintenance. Beautiful wilderness setting though some sections felt quite remote and exposed.
