Why hike in Southeast NB?

Southeast New Brunswick brings together very different settings: Moncton and its nature parks, the marshes around Sackville and, farther north, the Northumberland Strait coast.

Around Moncton

Irishtown Nature Park, north of the city, and Jones Lake are nature outings in and around Moncton.

Sackville and Kouchibouguac

Sackville Waterfowl Park is a managed marsh in the heart of Sackville, where trails and boardwalks let you watch waterfowl. Farther north, Kouchibouguac National Park, in Kent County, protects dunes, lagoons, salt marshes and bogs along the Northumberland Strait.

Before you go

Entry to Kouchibouguac National Park requires a fee. On the coast and in the marshes, biting insects can be numerous in summer: bring repellent.
