Why hike in Green Gables Shore?

The island's north shore, around Cavendish, takes its name from Green Gables, the house associated with L. M. Montgomery's Anne novels, now a Parks Canada historic site.

The national park

Prince Edward Island National Park runs along the Gulf of St. Lawrence. You walk between sandy beaches, dunes, red sandstone cliffs and forest trails. Dune sand is fragile: stay on the marked paths.

Before you go

A fee applies to enter the park in season. Coastal erosion and storms sometimes close trails and beaches: check the Parks Canada website for the sectors that are open before you set out.
