Trail description
Bald Mountain is a mountain located in Somerset County, Maine. With an elevation of 2,743 feet (835 m), Bald Mountain is the highest peak in the state of Maine. The mountain is part of the Appalachian Mountains and is flanked by two other mountains, Bigelow Mountain to the north and Saddleback Mountain to the south. The mountain is home to a number of hiking trails, including the Appalachian Trail, which passes over the summit. The mountain is also popular for skiing and snowboarding, with two ski resorts located on its slopes.

The Bald Mountain trails are located in the town of Madison, Maine. To get to the start of the trails, take Route 201 north from Skowhegan, Maine. The trailhead is located on the left side of the road, just past the intersection of Routes 201 and 150.
