- Location: Gatlinburg, East Tennessee (Sevier County) — check current access conditions and trailhead directions before heading out, as rural trailheads in this region can have limited signage. Note: Verify exact trailhead location before visiting, as multiple Eagle Rock formations exist in the region.
- Elevation: Approximately 1,958 m at the summit
- Footwear: Hiking boots or trail runners with good grip are strongly recommended. The rocky outcroppings and rooted trail sections are not friendly to casual sneakers.
- Water: Bring more than you think you need. There are no guaranteed water sources along the trail, and East Tennessee summers can be hot and humid.
- Timing: Early morning starts are a good call, both to beat the heat in warmer months and to have the rocks to yourself before other hikers arrive.
