The mountain is a popular destination for hikers, with a number of trails leading to the summit. The most popular route is the Keppoch Trail, which begins at the parking lot at the end of Keppoch Road. The trail is 8.5 km (5.3 mi) long and takes about 4 hours to hike.

The summit of Keppoch Mountain offers stunning views of the surrounding area. On a clear day, it is possible to see as far as Cape Breton Island and the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
