We completed this hike in early autumn and the fall foliage colors were magnificent. The conditions were ideal, and we even met some friendly fellow hikers along the way. The trail can be a bit challenging in certain sections, especially with the 500m elevation gain over 8.5km, but it's a beautiful way to enjoy nature and disconnect from daily life. The moderate difficulty rating is accurate for most hikers.

Completed this hike in August when the heat was quite intense. The trail is very beautiful but lacks shade in several sections, which made the experience challenging at times with the 500m climb. Don't forget to bring plenty of water for the 8.5km journey. The view at the summit is impressive, but you need to be prepared for the significant elevation gain over 3.5 hours.

For photography enthusiasts, Rae Lake is a real gem. The lake reflections at sunrise are incredible. I spent the morning capturing landscapes along this beautiful trail. You need to wake up early to avoid crowds, but it's absolutely worth it. The 3.5-hour round trip gives plenty of time for photography, and the 500m elevation provides excellent vantage points for stunning shots.

We did this family hike with two children. The 8.5km trail was somewhat demanding with its moderate difficulty rating, but the kids loved it and even spotted squirrels and birds along the way. Watch out for roots on the path, but the joy of reaching the lake after the 500m climb was worth the effort. A beautiful outing in pristine nature that took us about 4 hours with the children.

Easy and quick to get to the view, but a little tricky to navigate with young kids due to some steep sections along the 8.5km route. The moderate difficulty rating is fair, though the 500m elevation gain can be challenging for little ones. Well worth it though - the waterfall at Cascade d'Angon is spectacular and the 3.5-hour journey offers beautiful mountain scenery throughout.
