Fabulous. The top of the world. Well, not really but that's how it feels when you have just cycled up it. 8 miles climb through the stunning volcanic landscape of the Auvergne region, but the trip down is a blast. And the views are breathtaking; it's like being in a light aircraft soaring over ancient craters and lush valleys. The cycling route offers incredible panoramas of the Chaîne des Puys. Well worth a trip. Try not to take your car; there are too many up there and definitely don't take your camping car during prohibited hours.
