Beautiful winter hike with stunning panoramic views from the summit. The trail is well-marked and maintained, making navigation straightforward even for intermediate hikers. The 410m elevation gain is steady but manageable, and the 7km distance provides excellent exercise. Weather can change quickly on Vancouver Island, so layer appropriately. The rocky summit offers incredible vistas of the surrounding area that make the climb worthwhile.

Challenging but rewarding hike that showcases the best of British Columbia's natural beauty. The trail surface varies from packed earth to rocky sections requiring careful footing. At 7km with 410m elevation gain, it's perfect for building hiking fitness. Started early to avoid crowds and enjoyed peaceful moments in nature. The summit provides breathtaking views that justify every step of the climb up Mount Finlayson.

The trail to Mount Finlayson summit offers spectacular panoramic views that make the challenging climb worthwhile. The rocky sections near the top require careful footing, but the well-maintained path makes navigation straightforward. I'd recommend starting early to avoid crowds and bringing plenty of water for the 7km journey with its 410m elevation gain.

Had an incredible wildlife encounter today that reminded me why Vancouver Island is so special. Spotted a large cougar on the trail which was both thrilling and nerve-wracking. The 7km route through Goldstream Provincial Park is well-maintained with clear trail markers, but definitely stay alert and hike in groups. The 410m elevation gain provides a good workout, and despite the wildlife scare, I'm grateful these magnificent creatures have protected habitat here.

Excellent moderate hike with stunning views at the summit. The 7km trail is well-maintained and clearly marked throughout. The 410m elevation gain is noticeable but manageable for most fitness levels. Bring plenty of water and wear proper hiking boots for the rocky sections. The panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape make the effort worthwhile.
