The Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean is the third largest administrative region in Quebec, known for its wonderful green landscapes. Geographically it is located to the south, on the north shore of the St. Lawrence fleuve.
In addition, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean has the particularity of encompassing within its territory the Saguenay Fjord, which is an important tourist destination that can be visited by bicycle or boat.
Youcan explore the Veloroute du Fjord, to discover magnificent views, or take a sea shuttle for a cruise. If you'regoing to havea lot of fun, you'll even be able to see whales and beluga whales!
Nature, however, is not the only attraction of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. The regionalso famousforthe historic village of Val-Jalbert. It is a ghost town, located near Lac-Saint-Jean and was founded in 1901 by Damase Jalbert, the owner of a pulp mill.
Today the city is a tourist attraction that will allow you to take a step back in time, visiting the period wooden houses, the post office, the convent-school and much more!
