A recommended trail
If you want to start with a shorter path, the Mount of Morios trail is absolutely the right choice. It is a loop of about 29km, which can be crossed in one or two days, depending on whether you prefer to bivouac or not.
Mont des Morios is very easy to reach by car: you have to go towards Saint-Aimé-des-Lacs and then follow Principale Street to the parking lot near Lake Boudreault. Before that, however, you have to pay the access fees at the Lac Brûlé convenience store, where you will also receive the trail map.
The loop of Mont des Morios starts with a fairly easy ascent, but then it splits into two different trails:
- The North Morios, which is easier
- The Expert who is, as his name says it, reserved for hikers with more experience.
The second trail has some steep passages; however, there are ropes to help you climb safely. If you don't want to complicate your life too much, you can go up the most difficult path and go down the Morios Nord. That way you can live your outdoor adventure without getting too tired.
