Important note: Dogs are not allowed in the hut. Multiple trail routes access the hut; the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail (3.1 miles one-way with 2,500 feet elevation gain) offers the shortest route with the least elevation gain, though it remains strenuous.

The amc lakes of the clouds hut is located in the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire. The easiest way to get there is to drive to the town of Jackson and take the Mount Washington Auto Road to the summit of Mount Washington. At the summit, there is a visitors center and parking lot. From the visitors center, it is a short walk to the start of the trails that lead to the amc lakes of the clouds hut.
