Trail description
Hermit Lake Area - Historical Note
The Hermit Lake Shelters and tent platforms, which historically provided overnight accommodation below the ravine floor, were permanently decommissioned in 2019. Overnight accommodation is no longer available in this area. Day-use facilities at Hermit Lake may still be present, but visitors should not plan on shelter-based overnight stays or tent platform camping at this location.
Remove or replace the entire paragraph: "The ravine also sits within the White Mountain National Forest, and the area is managed with that in mind. The Hermit Lake Shelters, located just below the ravine floor, offer overnight accommodation for those who want to split the trip or use the area as a base for a summit push. Reservations are required for the shelters and tent platforms, and they fill up fast — especially on spring weekends."
Update the Practical Notes section to remove: "Hermit Lake Shelters require advance reservations through the AMC"
