Great walk with authentic wilderness feel. I read a negative review about the trail not being properly maintained with trees fallen across the path. This was true but exactly what I liked about this trail - fallen trees look like nature to me. The route is not very easy to navigate though: go up to the falls, then follow the right bank of the river all the way to the old mill, then climb the hill on the right side and follow the gravel path back downhill (route marked with red arrows). The 150m elevation change took about two hours total.

Great nature hike to the waterfall with beautiful stream views and rich history around the old mill. The 150m elevation gain over 2.5km provides nice variety without being too strenuous, perfect for the 'Easy' difficulty rating. Highly recommended to bring some drinks and snacks and stay a while to fully appreciate this beautiful environment in the Allier region. The combination of natural features and historical elements makes this trail special, though plan accordingly as parking and access aren't free.
